This is one of the very finest 3 door MK2 Golf GTI available on the market today having enjoyed a comprehensive mechanical rebuild and cosmetic preparation by its diligent previous keeper.

The previous custodian enjoyed the vehicle for over a decade and was himself a master technician for Jaguar. Under his ownership, this GTI enjoyed a complete engine rebuild and full mechanical overhaul and also was treated to a fully respray in 2020 to the very highest of standards. The car has only covered a handful of miles following the completion of the cosmetic preparation.

In the mechanical rebuild, the car was kept to largely standard specification apart from upgraded Bilstein shocks with Eibach springs which is a recommended upgrade for the 8V GTI. Further, the braking system was overhauled, a new stainless steel exhaust fitted and the BBS alloys were refurbished with fresh rubber also installed.

As can be seen in the images the underside of the car can only be described as comparable to new, with each component either cleaned and refitted or replaced. The engine bay also reflects such attention to detail; there simply cannot be many MK2 Golfs that remain in such condition today.

The interior of the vehicle was already in very good condition when the previous keeper purchased the vehicle, but this did not stop some minor areas of improvement. The headlining and sun visors were replaced and a rare VW Jetta steering wheel was also fitted (original still with vehicle).

After such extensive preparation, the car was treated to recent full service with cambelt change and a new battery was fitted. In addition to a vehicle of such exceptional condition, the car is also complete with an original VW bookpack and extensive paperwork on file.
